Our roots: the marriage of chocolate and the banking tradition
Goldkenn was created on the shores of Lake Geneva in 1980 by Steven Goldstein and Christian Belce Kennedy, who combined their two names to create the Goldkenn brand. Their ambition? To bring together two iconic Swiss symbols: chocolate and banking. This idea gave rise to the famous Goldbar®, a perfect replica of a real 12.5 kg gold bar, filled with Swiss praline. This iconic product quickly catapulted the brand onto the international stage, particularly in airports, where it became a staple of the Duty Free market.


Successful collaboration with Choco-Diffusion
In 1982, Goldkenn entered a key partnership with Choco-Diffusion to market its products. This highly successful partnership has enabled the brand to consolidate its presence in a number of markets around the world and to raise its profile.


Innovation and liqueurs: A new era for Goldkenn
In 1985, Goldkenn revolutionised the world of chocolate by launching a partnership with Rémy Martin, resulting in the Liqueur Collection, combining Swiss chocolate-making expertise with the most prestigious liqueurs. This collaboration, which is still very active today, bears witness to the longstanding relationship of trust between the two brands.
Goldkenn has since attracted other big names in the sector. Jack Daniel’s, Cointreau, The Botanist, Amarula, Williamine Morand, and more recently Malibu, have all chosen Goldkenn as their partner to create chocolates in their own image.


A new horizon in Le Locle
In 2010, Goldkenn was acquired by Choco-Diffusion and set up in Le Locle, in the heart of Watch Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its excellence in watchmaking. This change of setting symbolised a new stage in the brand’s history, while respecting its commitment to Swiss craftsmanship.
Today, Goldkenn remains a pioneer in luxury chocolate, with two flagship collections: the Gold Collection, driven by the iconic Goldbar®, and the Liqueur Collection, the result of prestigious partnerships. Innovative and respectful of traditions, the brand is recognised worldwide for the quality of its products and the creativity of its packaging.
